european vacation.

I flew in today from the warmth of L.A.
To a typical Manchester day
With a buddy named Dan for as long as we can
Economically manage to stay
As we get off the plane Dan is racking his brain
For the appropriate something to say
And he says to me, “Steve, what do you believe
Is the number of chicks we can lay?”
And I say

I didn't travel this far to embark on series of sexual flings
I'm here on journey of self-discovery and to see some very old buildings
And while I'm around I just might have to down myself a couple of beers
Because I'm leaving today and I won't be back this way for who knows how many years

Now we're riding a tram down in old Amsterdam
With an American girl that we met
And as we get off the bus the thought comes to us
How easily stoned we can get
Then later we go off to see a sex show
And the women whose red light are on
And Dan wonders which one would be the most fun
To spend a couple of guilders upon

But I didn't travel this far to embark on series of sexual flings
I'm here on journey of self-discovery and to see some very old buildings
And while I'm around I just might have to down myself a couple of beers
Because I'm leaving today and I won't be back this way for who knows how many years

We traveled through München, Firenze and Wien
Seeing all sorts of sights that we never had seen
Taking ferries and subways and railroad cars
Paying visits to castles and churches and bars
And every time I would try to sit down
And collect all my thoughts for a while
Dan would tell me that we should go pick up some girls
And I would just sit there and smile

Dan has to go home, so we split after Rome
And I sail for Greece on my own
Where I tour the isles hooking up for a while
With a Dutch girl who's also alone
After several days the time comes to part ways
So she sends me away with a kiss
As I'm waving goodbye with a tear in my eye
I realize it's her that I'll miss

But I didn't travel this far to embark on series of sexual flings
I'm here on journey of self-discovery and to see some very old buildings
And while I'm around I just might have to down myself a couple of beers
Because I'm leaving today and I won't be back this way for who knows how many years
